The legislature of cricket is called the Marylebone Cricket Club or MCC. Famous cricket personalities are always in the cricket committee of that MCC. The current committee consists of Kumar Sangakkara, Sourav Ganguly, Heather Knight, Ramiz Raja, Justin Langer, Jhulan Goswami and Eoin Morgan. And this committee is led by president Mike Gatting.

This committee of legends met before the second Test of the Ashes. MCC published a circular on Tuesday (July 11) about the discussion and review of that meeting. After the 2027 World Cup, the MCC has proposed cutting back on men's bilateral ODI cricket, questioning the format's utility in an already crowded schedule. Cricket's law-making body has also recommended stopping the ODI bilateral series after the 2027 ODI World Cup.

The ODI World Cup is considered the biggest event in world cricket. However, due to the increasing pressure of the game, there is a trend of selective playing among the cricketers lately. That's why many like Ben Stokes have taken the tough decision to ignore the ODI format.
