Former Bangladesh captain Mashrafe Bin Mortaza has once again won the Narail-2 seat as an Awami League candidate in the National Election 2024. He has been elected Member of Parliament for the second consecutive time.

Mashrafe received 1,89,102 votes, while Hafizur Rahman of the Bangladesh Workers Party, his closest competitor, received 4,041 votes.

Mashrafe entered politics for the first time in the 2018 11th National Parliament election. He had an overwhelming majority of votes and was elected as a member of parliament. The head of the ruling Awami League, Sheikh Hasina, has faith in Mashrafe this time as well. Mashrafe has once again won by a significant margin of votes, befitting the party's confidence. 

Narail and Mashrafe have collaborated on development projects during the past five years. Many locations have seen growth impact roads, mosques, and madrassas. Mashrafe has been chosen once more by the Narail people to serve as their representative.

Mashrafe served in the cricket field as the team leader of Bangladesh for a long time. After being elected as a Member of Parliament, he poured his best into the development of Narail. Although the impact of Covid somewhat hampered the development work, Mashrafe handled it brilliantly. Mashrafe has worked tirelessly for Narail as a Member of Parliament even during the Covid, videos of his various activities have gone viral on social media. 

Meanwhile, Shakib Al Hasan, the current captain of Bangladesh, has been also elected from the Magura-1 seat in the 12th National Assembly elections.
