28-year old Mehedi Maruf has shown his ability with the bat in AKS Bangladesh Premier League T20 2016 for Dhaka Dynamites. As a reward, he will be in the Australia camp with the other Tigers. Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) chief selector Minhajul Abedin Nannu has confirmed this news. He said, "He will not be considered in the final squad. He will go as development performers like Nazmul Hossain Shanto and Ebadat Hossain Chowdhury. He will be in the 10-day conditioning camp in Australia." According to Nannu, Bangladesh national team head coach Chandika Hathurusingha wants to see Mehedi Maruf.
