Bangladesh have won the toss and elected to field first in the second match of the three-match T20I series at the Arun Jaitley Cricket Stadium in Delhi on Wednesday (October 9).
India have gone for the unchanged side after a dominating win in the first T20I. On the other hand, Bangladesh made one change to their squad with Tanzim Hasan Sakib coming into the playing XI in replace of Shoriful Islam.
India captain Suryakumar Yadav said: “We were looking to bat first as well. We have to challenge our bowlers to bowl with the wet ball. There's a lot of talent. I am just happy sitting back, playing them bat. You have to be one step ahead. Looks very good. We are unchanged.”
Bangladesh captain Najmul Hossain Shanto said: “I'll like to bowl first. Looks a good wicket, I think dew might come in the second innings. If you look at all the international matches and IPL, looks a pretty good wicket, big score in all the matches. It (winning their last 2 matches in Delhi) gives us a lot of confidence, but today is a new day, we have to play to our strength and give our best. Top of the order, as a batting group, we need to focus on the first first six overs. Shoriful isn't playing, Tanzim Sakib plays.”
In the first T20I, India crashed Bangladesh by 7 wickets on Sunday (October 6) in Gwalior. Arshdeep Singh and Varun Chakravarthy's three wickets each helped India fold Bangladesh up for a measly 127 runs. In reply, Sanju Samson, Suryakumar Yadav and Hardik Pandya's quick-fire cameos handed India a very comfortable victory to go 1-0 ahead in the series.
