Former Indian leg-spinner, Piyush Chawla reserved the highest respect for Kuldeep Yadav after India's victory over Sri Lanka in the Super 4 stage fixture. The Men in Blue defeated Pakistan by a massive margin of 228 runs before beating Sri Lanka by 41 runs to make it two wins in a row.
Kuldeep YadavRightly so, Team India advanced to the final of the Asia Cup. The winner between Pakistan and Sri Lanka in today's fixture in Colombo will lock horns with Team India in the Asia Cup 2023 final on September 17. Case in point, Kuldeep Yadav has been one of the finest performers for India with the ball.
The chinaman bowler impressed the cricket fraternity with his impactful and substantial bowling spells. He has been the pick of the bowlers in the tournament as he accounted for 9 dismissals in 4 games at an impressive bowling average of 11.33.
Kuldeep Yadav took a magnificent five-wicket haul against Pakistan and followed it up with an impressive four-wicket haul against Sri Lanka. He is expected to be a potent spin weapon for India in the Asia Cup 2023 final.
Chawla echoed that Kuldeep Yadav doesn't have the fear of failure in the first place. While speaking to the broadcaster, Star Sports, Chawla said, “Sometimes you have that fear of failure. Because you think if I don't get the wickets then I might not play the next game. So once that fear is out of your mind, you try to get more attacking and you're not scared of getting hit, and in that process, you end up getting more wickets."
“So that's what he's doing at the moment. He's not scared of, there's no fear of failure. He’s just coming and he's enjoying his bowling and the best part is he's looking to get wickets in every over,” Chawla added.
Kuldeep Yadav has by far played 88 ODIs for the national cricket team. Overall, he has taken 150 wickets including 2 five-wicket hauls, registering his career-best bowling figures of 6/25.
Even Indian skipper Rohit Sharma lauded Kuldeep Yadav at the post-match presentation. "For the past year or so bowling really really well. He has done a lot of hard work on his rhythm. He went back to the drawing board and worked on it. The ball is coming out nicely and you can see the results in the last 10 ODIs," Rohit added.
