Lucknow Super Giants' regular captain KL Rahul sustained an untimely injury on the field against Royal Challengers Bangalore in the home fixture in the sixteenth edition of the Indian Premier League. Later on, KL Rahul himself confirmed that he will no longer play his part in the IPL.

KL Rahul, in his social media post had mentioned that he has been ruled out of the IPL and further added that he will not be playing the ICC World Test Championship Final against Australia at The Oval in London on June 7.

The cricketer said that he would be undergoing a thigh injury and that it will take him some time to recover and get back on track. KL Rahul's absence is indeed a terrible blow to India's chances going forward into the final. Notably, KL Rahul possesses a terrific batting average at The Oval.

KL Rahul says he learned a lot from MS Dhoni

Meanwhile, the star cricketer, while speaking to YouTube Podcast BeerBiceps, said that he learned a lot from MS Dhoni. Elaborating it further, he said MS Dhoni was his first captain and that he picked up the much-needed lessons from the cricketing brain.

He further added that MS Dhoni builds a very good relationship with each person. "MS Dhoni was my first captain, I have learned a lot from him, he builds a very good relationship with each person, where boys will fight for you & will be with you - that is something I learned from him," KL Rahul added.

Earlier in a long post on social media, Rahul confirmed his absence from the WTC final against Australia. “Absolutely gutted that I won’t be at the Oval next month with Team India. I’ll do everything I can to get back in the blue and help my country. That has always been my focus and priority.

“After careful consideration and consultation with the medical team, it’s been concluded that I’ll be undergoing surgery on my thigh shortly. My focus will be on my rehabilitation and recovery in the coming weeks. It’s a tough call to make, but I know it’s the right one to ensure a full recovery," he said.
