Pakistan cricketer Ahmed Shehzad has voiced his frustration with the national team’s performance during the ongoing second Test against Bangladesh in Rawalpindi. In a video posted on his official X handle, Shehzad expressed deep disappointment, particularly over Pakistan's inability to maintain their early momentum after reducing Bangladesh to 26/6.

Shehzad, known for his candid opinions, didn't hold back as he highlighted the team’s shortcomings. "Pakistan have made another unwanted record against Bangladesh. It seems like the Bangladesh cricket team has come only to make records," Shehzad remarked, referring to the historic partnership between Litton Das and Mehidy Hasan Miraz.

Despite a brilliant start by Pakistan's pacers, Mir Hamza and Khurram Shahzad, who have both been outstanding in the domestic circuit, Pakistan allowed a 150-run partnership to flourish after taking six early wickets. "These youngsters who have toiled hard in domestic cricket and hadn't come from Mohenjo-daro, were waiting for their chances and today they got an opportunity. Khurram Shahzad bowled well today, hitting the weak areas of the Bangladesh batsmen, exposing their weak techniques," Shehzad said, acknowledging the efforts of the young bowlers.

The ongoing Test match has seen Pakistan bundled out for 274 in their first innings. Despite reducing Bangladesh to a precarious position, the hosts failed to capitalize, allowing Litton Das to score a magnificent century (138 off 228) and Mehidy Hasan to contribute a solid 78 off 124 balls. Bangladesh ultimately posted 262 runs, leaving Pakistan with a slim 12-run lead.

Shehzad criticized the Pakistan team's lack of collective effort and proactiveness, especially under pressure. "There’s an absence of collective effort, we see it in patches. They end up exploiting the phases when the opponent isn’t at their best. But in challenging situations, they have to be proactive, make changes, and be ruthless," Shehzad stated.

He also took a dig at Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Mohsin Naqvi's claims about the lack of quality players in domestic cricket. "It’s been claimed we don’t have the instrument for a surgery in domestic cricket. These youngsters came from our domestic cricket, not from Mohenjo-Daro," Shehzad added, underscoring the potential within Pakistan's domestic circuit.
