The three-match ODI series between India and Australia concludes on Wednesday afternoon in Rajkot. The hosts have already won the series after winning the first two games. India won by 5 wickets in Mohali and 99 runs (DLS) in Indore. Read on as we preview this game. The final ODI of the series begins at 1:30 pm local time at the Saurashtra Cricket Association.
India saw off Australia and registered another convincing win in the second game of the three-match series in Indore. With this win, India also secured an unassailable 2-0 lead and secured the series with one game to spare. The hosts will look for a clean sweep while the Aussies will look to salvage their pride and end the series on a high in the final ODI in Rajkot on Tuesday.
With India's experienced batters Rohit and Kohli having a rest, players like Shubman Gill and Shreyas Iyer moved to the top of the order. Both batters hit great tons while skipper Rahul, Ishan Kishan and Suryakumar Yadav made crucial contributions to guide India to a mammoth total.
Australia suffered their fifth consecutive defeat in this format and will have a lot to think about before the final ODI. David Warner continued his good run with a half century while Sean Abbott scored a quick 54th which was the only positive for the visitors.
India will be happy that the batters are getting game time and will also make the most of it. The spin duo Jadeja and Ravichandran Ashwin fired in tandem. With Axar Patel likely to miss out, Ashwin will look to back up his clinical performance to make it into the World Cup squad.
Skipper Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Kuldeep Yadav, Hardik Pandya and Jasprit Bumrah will mark their return to the team. With Suryakumar Yadav playing blind in the second game, India is once again facing a surplus problem.
Australia needs to perform better with both bat and ball in the third game. They missed players like Pat Cummins, Mitchell Starc and Glenn Maxwell and it showed in their performance. The action now moves to Rajkot before moving on to the T20Is.
