New Zealand have dominated the entire day three to put themselves in the driver's seat. A swashbuckling hundred from Rachin Ravindra and a fantastic fifty from Tim Southee helped the visitors get a huge 356-run lead. In reply, the hosts bounced back brilliantly but the late wicket of Kohli gave the Kiwis upper hand.
The day started with some quick wickets of the Kiwis as the pacers, Bumrah and Siraj removed Mitchell and Blundell respectively. And then Ravindra Jadeja's twice blow to remove Glenn Phillips and Matt Henry and New Zealand were in all sorts of trouble.
But Tim Southee and Rachin Ravindra stitched a crucial 137-run stand to help the Kiwis get a huge 356-run lead after first innings.
In reply, the hosts started off a terrific start as the opening duo added 72 runs before Yashasvi Jaiswal fell to Ajaz Patel. But Rohit Sharma brought up fifty but departed soon after.
And then Sarfaraz Khan came out with all the guns blazing to take off pressure from Virat and Kohli too then joined the party. The duo added 136 runs to help India get a terrific start.
However, New Zealand made a comeback as Glenn Phillips dismissed Kohli to uplift the visitors.
India are 125 runs behind and they've 7 wickets in their hands.
