Varun Chakravarthy made a remarkable return to India's T20I set-up after a three-year gap, and the 33-year-old proved he is still worth his weight in gold.

Well, it wasn't all smooth sailing at first. In his opening over, he was taken for 15 runs as Bangladesh batters looked to attack him early on.

However, the ever-composed mystery spinner bounced back in spectacular fashion in his next three overs, as he conceded just 16 runs while snatching three crucial wickets.

Meanwhile, fans took to social media to celebrate his extraordinary performance, hailing him for his ability to turn the game around despite being tonked for more runs in his first over. He went on to get rid of Towhid Hridoy (12), Jaker Ali (8) and Rishad Hossain (11).

His comeback couldn't have been more impactful. Following an an initial onslaught from the Bangladeshi batters, India needed someone to step up and Varun did exactly that. His ability to control the middle overs and pick up wickets is something that India needs.
