Pakistan power hitter and middle-order batsman Iftikhar Ahmed will join Multan Sultans for the ninth edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL), while Rilee Rossouw will return to Quetta Gladiators.

Iftikhar Ahmad, the Pakistan cricket team's middle-order batsman, has signed a contract with Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchise Multan Sultans while MS has traded its middle-order batsman Rilee Rossouw to Quetta Gladiators.

The trade agreement with the Quetta Gladiators also stipulates that the Multan Sultans will receive the first pick in the Platinum round in exchange for Rilee Rossouw and the first Silver category pick.

Iftikhar has emerged as an excellent all-rounder due to his powerful shots and deft off-spins. He brings experience from 229 T20 matches in which he scored 4,476 runs. He also has a century in format to match 30 half-centuries. Since the start of his career in October 2010, the muscular batsman has broken a boundary every 6.75 balls. He recently reached the 50 wicket mark and his economy stands at 7.31.

Iftikhar Ahmed has previously represented Peshawar Zalmi, Karachi Kings and Islamabad United, along with Gladiators in PSL and Multan Sultans will be his fifth team.

Meanwhile, Rilee Rossouw was part of Quetta Gladiators' PSL winning team in 2019 after representing the team from 2017 to 2019.

Iftikhar Ahmad had already hinted that he would be signing with Multan Sultans today, but the X-post (formerly Twitter) from the Pakistan Super League account made it official.

The Multan Sultans have developed into a strong team and their record over the last three seasons speaks for itself. Now my aim is to help them win the prestigious HBL PSL trophy,” said Iftikhar.
