Bangladesh captain Najmul Hossain Shanto expresses satisfaction after the 10-wicket win against USA in the third and last T20I on Saturday (May 25) in Prairie View.
To avoid the whitewash, Bangladesh needed a win and pacer Mustafizur Rahman came up with his career best T20I bowling figure, where he picked up 6 wickets after giving away just 10 runs in 4 overs including a maiden. In reply, the opening duo of Tanzid Hasan Tamim and Soumya Sarkar string a hundred run partnership together to blow away USA in the third T20I. This was Bangladesh's first-ever 10-wicket win in T20Is.
Shanto says that they successfully executed their plan in the match. “Alhamdulillah (For today's win). I think the boys showed a lot of character today. I think the plan we made before this match, everyone executed our plan,” Shanto said.
Shanto also adds that the experience they got about USA conditions will help them in the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup. “It's very disappointing for us (losing the series). We didn't play well to be very honest. But we finished on a high note and I think this confidence going up to the World Cup will help us and we know all the condition and all those things. So we experienced all those things. If we go to the World Cup with those experiences then it will help our team,” Shanto added.
