Veteran spinner Harbhajan Singh is unsure whether Rohit Sharma will feature in the 2027 World Cup for India but feels that with strong focus on fitness, he can make it. Rohit recently led India to victory in the Champions Trophy in Dubai, marking the team’s second ICC title in the past 12 months. The explosive opener has been leading from the front in the 50-over format and delivered a match-winning performance in the Champions Trophy final.

Under his leadership, India has embraced a bold and aggressive batting approach, with the openers focused on providing a blazing start to set the tone for the rest of the team. While he has already retired from T20Is, following the Champions Trophy triumph, he made it clear that he has no plans to step away from the 50-over format anytime soon.

Harbhajan believes that with two and a half years still to go until the 2027 World Cup, it’s too early to predict Rohit’s future in the tournament. He feels that Rohit's fitness and desire to keep going will be the deciding factors in whether he makes it.

"I feel that if anything is left for him to achieve is the 50-over World Cup. He would probably want to win but there is still two and a half years for that. That is way too far, he will have to see where his fitness is going, where his hunger is going," Harbhajan says.

"If he's still got it, he will have to work hard for it and if he works hard, he will play. So, is the case with Virat Kohli," he concluded.
