Fresh off his stellar performances with both bat and ball in the USA’s National Cricket League T10 edition, the iconic all-rounder has been swiftly picked up by Galle Marvels as their direct signing for the upcoming Lanka T10 league. This comes on the heels of his role as the icon player for the Bangla Tigers in the Abu Dhabi T10 League.

Organized by T10 Sports Management, the Lanka T10 league is set to begin in December, featuring six teams. The lineup includes Galle Marvels, Bangla Tigers Hambantota, Colombo Strikers, Kandy Bolts, Jaffna Titans, and Dambulla Jaguars Braves. In an exciting twist, Shakib will now be competing against his Abu Dhabi T10 side, the Bangla Tigers, as part of this new tournament. The teams will play in a round-robin format, with the top-performing sides progressing to the playoffs.

Galle Marvels were quick to secure Shakib as their first player ahead of the draft, labeling him as a "platinum pre-draft pick." The team, which also competes in the Lanka Premier League, announced their move with the slogan "Chapter 2.0 Unfolds," referring to their ambitious new journey in the T10 format.
