England were already on top after the third day with 128-run lead. Sam Curran was dismissed by Mohammad Abbas for 20 early in the day. Jos Buttler took off as the eighth wicket fell.
Buttler reached his seventh Test fifty. He was restricting himself from his natural game until then. He changed his mode and smashed Pakistani bowlers before getting all-out. England posted 363 in 106.2 overs with a 189-run lead. Buttler remained not out for 80 runs from 174 deliveries including 11 fours and 2 sixes.
Pakistan top-order failed in the second innings as they lost three wickets before the lunch. James Anderson took two wickets in his first spell. Imam-Ul-Haq was at the other end. The left-handed opener top-scored in thr innings with 34 off 110.
Debutant Usman Salahuddin played with responsibility in his second innings. He made 139-ball 33. But the fall of wickets continued. All the English bowlers including off-spinner Dom Bess, who took his maiden Test wicket in the innings.
Pakistan were dismissed for 134 runs in 46 overs to give England a big win to level up the series after being 0-1 down in the first Test. Stuart Broad and Bess bagged three wickets each. Chris Woakes and debutant Curran were also among the wickets.
