With only hours remaining before the highly anticipated BPL 2025 players’ draft, new franchise Dhaka Capitals continues to make waves by signing international stars. The team has secured Pakistan pacer Shahnawaz Dahani and England wicketkeeper-batter Stephen Eskinazi ahead of the draft, adding to an already impressive lineup.

This marks Dhaka Capitals’ debut in the Bangladesh Premier League, and they have wasted no time in assembling a star-studded squad. Pakistani fast bowler Shahnawaz Dahani will bring his explosive pace to the team. Dahani, who has played 11 T20Is for Pakistan, has taken 8 wickets with an economy rate of 9.05. While his international stats may not be eye-catching, Dahani has been a consistent performer in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) and can also contribute with the bat.

Joining him is England’s hard-hitting wicketkeeper-batter Stephen Eskinazi, known for his power-hitting and elegant strokes. Eskinazi has made a name for himself in T20 leagues like the T20 Blast, The Hundred, and the Big Bash League. Although he is yet to debut in international cricket, he has already played 107 T20 matches, amassing 3,105 runs with an impressive strike rate of 139.67.

Dhaka Capitals, owned by Bangladeshi film star Shakib Khan, is not just relying on foreign talent. The team has already signed prominent local stars Tanzid Hasan Tamim and Mustafizur Rahman. On the international front, the franchise has roped in big names such as Johnson Charles, Thisara Perera, and Amir Hamza. Although Alex Hales was initially signed, his participation is on hold due to his upcoming wedding.
