Ireland Women's have beaten Bangladesh Women's in a nail bitter to cleansweep the hosts on Monday (December 9). Orla Prendergast's career-best four-fer restricted Bangladesh to a paltry 123 runs. In reply, Laura Delany's heroics of 36* off 31 steered Ireland home.

Being inserted to bat first, Bangladesh lost Murshida Khatun cheaply. But opener Sobhana Mostary and Sharmin Akhter stitched a quick-fire 71-run stand off just 58 balls.
Aimee Maguire brought Ireland back into the game as she removed Sharmin Akhter on 34 off 33 balls. While Sobhana too fell to Aimee Maguire in LBW trap on 45.

Since then, Bangladesh lost wickets after wickets as a horrible collapse happened in Bangladesh's middle order as they succumbed to 123 runs.

Orla Prendergast was the hero behind this as she returned with figures of 22-4.

In reply, Gaby Lewis and Amy Hunter stitched a good opening partnership of 55 runs before Jannatul Ferdus kncoked over Amy Hunter on 28. Skipper Gaby Lewis too departed soon after as Ireland lost both of their openers.

But middle order batter Laura Delany stood tall and she smashed a superb 36* off 31 deliveries, including 4 boundaries and 3 on the trot in the last over of Shorna Akter in the penultimate over to steer Ireland home.
