On his presentation in front of CoA, former India coach Anil Kumble stated facts and figures of coach’s remuneration comparing to that of the India’s national team captain.
As per the demand of Anil Kumble, “chief coach should earn 60 percent of the captain’s estimated earnings.”
The Press Trust of India has access to Kumble’s presentation which he submitted to Committee of Administration (CoA).
The former India coach suggested a pay hike of RS 7.5 crore from the current 6.5 crore RS. The remark shows ‘60% of captain’s estimated earnings.’
In eleventh page, Anil Kumble said, “The players are kept out of the contract during two months IPL window. Similarly coaches need to be kept out of the contract allowing them to be a part of the IPL – this will enable them to augment their earnings and gain more experiences particularly for the T20 games.”
Mentioning the demand of Kumble about IPL contract, a BCCI official told to PTI, “While a lot of issues are pertinent but even his proposal on IPL is contrary to what Guha had written in his letter. If we go by what Guha had written, what Anil had demanded is a clear case of ‘conflict of interest’.”
Former CoA member Ramachandra Guha had written about national coaches ‘moonlighting’ for IPL which BCCI official shot as a case of ‘conflict of interest’.
