Australia have completed whitewash with another comprehensive victory over Scotland, beating the hosts by 6 wickets on Saturday (7th September) at Grange Cricket Stadium, Edinburgh. Cameron Green's fantastic 62* off only 39 deliveries helped Australia chase down Scotland's 150.
Cameron Green hit an unbeaten 62* off 39 balls to steer Australia to complete whitewash. Being inserted to bat first, George Munsey and O Hairs gave Scotland a fine start beforr the later one departed to Aaron Hardie. However, Munsey too fell immediately at the tad backend of the powerplay, after scoring 25 off 17 balls. Captain Richie Berrington couldn’t get going. Wicket-keeper batter Matthew Cross too trapped infront to Adam Zampa.
It was a one-man show from Brandon McMullen as he brought up his third fifty of the series and helped Scotland post 149 on the board.
In reply, Australia lost both of their openers in a jiffy. But captain Mitchell Marsh pulled things back for Australia after smashing some boundaries. Marsh scored a quick-fire 31 off only 23 deliveries. After the departure of Marsh, all-rounder Cameron Green hold on one end, playing a sensational knock and steered the ship for Australia.
Green scored an excellent fifty and blasted an unbeaten 62* off only 39 balls, getting assistance from explosive middle order batter Tim David, who hammered 25 off only 14 deliveries. Australia had another convincing win and completed the whitewash now.
