Bradford native and England cricket player Adil Rashid, who plays for the Northern Superchargers in The Hundred, has been honored with a new painting at the city's famous Park Avenue Cricket Ground.

In addition to the Headingley crowd, four distinct representations of Rashid are shown in the mural. Among them is 12-year-old Abdurrahman, a fervent Northern Superchargers supporter who won a contest to be included in the artwork.

The mural was painted by local street artists Blot, who built on their earlier piece from four years ago that featured Rashid alone. It was unveiled at a special event before of this year's The Hundred. The revised mural now honors the Northern Superchargers' development and progress within the surrounding villages in addition to highlighting Rashid's growing influence on the game.

Adil Rashid conveyed his excitement by saying, “I am always passionate about driving local community initiatives, and it’s an honour to be represented with this mural at Bradford Park Avenue. Being part of the Northern Superchargers’ journey from the start of The Hundred has been truly special, and I’m proud to have left a mark and be part of this fantastic community.”

Competition winner Abdurrahman said, "I can't believe I get to be on a mural with Adil Rashid, I've supported the Northern Superchargers since their very first match and Adil is my hero. This is a dream come true!"

The 2024 The Hundred season for the Northern Superchargers begins tonight against the Trent Rockets at Headingley Stadium.
