After a disappointing loss in the first Test, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has named a 15-member squad for the second Test against Zimbabwe. The squad includes two key changes that are meant to make the team stronger before the Chattogram match.

Opening batter Anamul Haque Bijoy returns to the Test team after a long absence. Uncapped left-arm spinner Tanvir Islam is also called up to replace fast bowler Nahid Rana.  On the other hand, Zakir Hasan has been left off the team.

Bangladesh were upset to lose to Zimbabwe by three wickets in the first game of the series in Sylhet.  With the series on the line, the selectors have decided to make a few changes to the team to make it more balanced and give it more strength.

The 32-year-old Anamul Haque Bijoy has been rewarded for his great play in the ongoing Dhaka Premier League (DPL), where he is one of the top scorers.  There was a break of almost three years between his last Test match and this one. He last played in 2022. His addition makes Bangladesh's top order stronger, which wasn't good enough in Sylhet.

The second change is in the area of bowling.  Nahid Rana, a fast bowler who played in the first Test, has been taken out to make room for Tanvir Islam, a left-arm spinner with a lot of potential who has not yet played in a Test.  This move makes it look like Bangladesh might choose an attack that relies on spin, especially on a Chattogram pitch that usually has turn.
