India pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar made headlines on Sunday by becoming the most expensive player in Uttar Pradesh T20 League (UP T20 League) history.

For the second UPT20 League season, Bhuvneshwar has joined the Lucknow Falcons. In the competition's first edition, the 34-year-old participated for Noida Super Kings, where he took 14 wickets in nine games to rank fourth overall in terms of wicket-taking. In the end, Noida placed second in the standings, although they were defeated by Kashi Rudras in the semifinal.

Prior to the forthcoming season, the incredible sum of INR 30.25 lakh was paid for the medium-pacer. It's interesting to note that Bhuvneshwar Kumar, who was acquired for INR 4.2 crores in 2021, plays for Sunrisers Hyderabad in the Indian Premier League (IPL).

For the second edition, Lucknow also signed Sameer Choudhary, Kritagya Kumar Singh, Aditya Kumar Singh, and Viprag Nigam in addition to Bhuvneshwar. Priyam Garg, who led the Indian squad in the 2020 U19 World Cup, was also kept on board.

Players like Nitish Rana, Mohsin Khan, Shivam Mavi, Yash Dayal, and Piyush Chawla are expected to compete in the tournament.

A two-day trial was recently held in Lucknow at the Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Bajpai Ekana Stadium's B ground. AW Zaidi (bowling coach), Umang Sharma (batting coach), Ravikant Shukla (fielding coach), and Mritunjay Tripathi (manager) were present during the tryouts in addition to Amrish Gautam, the chief coach.
