After winning the Test and ODI series against Ireland, Bangladesh have their eyes on the Test trophy in Bangladesh's first and only Test of the Tour of Ireland. Bangladesh comprehensively won the 3-match ODI series. They won the 1st ODI by a huge 183 runs margin, the second game was rained out but Bangladesh came back to beat Ireland by 10 wickets in the 3rd. The T20I series was also dominated by Bangladesh as they won the first two games to seal the series. Experienced all-rounder Shakib al Hasan will lead the Bangladesh team, while Andrew Balbirnie will lead the Ireland team.

Although Bangladesh have dominated Ireland in the ODIs and IT20s in recent weeks, they were beaten by Ireland for the first time on Friday in Bangladesh. With far more experience of this format than Ireland, however, the hosts will expect a huge winning margin.

Captain Andy Balbirnie will come back to lead the team after being rested for the IT20 series at the end of March. He is expected to open batting and could be joined at the top of the order by PJ Moor, the former Zimbabwe wicketkeeper-batsman who has played eight Tests and qualified for Ireland in October 2022.

With Josh Little absent from the Indian Premier League and Barry McCarthy absent from this entire tour, Ireland's bowling attack will once again lack punch and experience. 20-year-old left-arm spinner Matthew Humphreys, who had already made his IT20 and ODI debuts on this tour, will be the main spinning option.
