The Bangladesh Under-19 team will go to Sri Lanka for a six-match Youth ODI series as part of their growth plan. They will leave on April 21 (Sunday). The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has chosen a 15-member team for the tour, with Azizul Hakim Tamim as captain. In a very brave act of dedication, Tamim has decided to skip his current SSC exams and lead his country instead.
There are also five players on standby in case of illness or last-minute changes. Samiun Basir Ratul, Kalam Siddiki, and Iqbal Hasan Emon are some of the well-known players on the main team. Zawad Abrar has been chosen as vice-captain.
Before going to another country, the young Tigers went to Rajshahi for a two-week training camp to get better before the competition series. When the team gets to Sri Lanka, they will train for two days and then play a warm-up game on April 24 to get used to the weather.
The official series begins on April 26, with matches scheduled every alternate day: 2nd ODI – April 28, 3rd ODI – May 1, 4th ODI – May 3, 5th ODI – May 6 and 6th ODI – May 8.
All six matches will be hosted in Hambantota, known for its coastal winds and spin-friendly conditions—ideal for testing the youth side’s adaptability.
