England recovered from 6/110 to 6/235 late on the third day. Jos Buttler and Dom Bess helped England avoid an innings defeat. The 126-run stand was broken straightway in the second over of the fourth day as Mohammad Amir and Mohammad Abbas brought another collapse.
Buttler departed for 138-ball 67 runs. Debutant Bess made 57 runs off 106 balls. England lost four wickets for six runs in 25 balls in 27 minutes in the morning. Pakistan bundled them out for 242 runs in 82.1 overs.
England lost 4 for 19 in the same innings when middle-order collapsed. They had lost 5 for 16 in the first innings, leaving a huge question mark on English batting line-up.
Amir and Abbas bagged the same number of wickets in the second innings as the first innings -- 4 each. Amir conceded 36 for his four while Abbas took 4/41.
Pakistan required 64 runs to win the Test match.
