Bangladesh’s pace bowlers have been in excellent form for a while, consistently delivering strong performances both at home and abroad. Their development has been evident, drawing praise from cricket experts around the world. Despite not performing at their best throughout the Chennai Test against India, Bangladesh’s pacers impressed in the first two sessions, with their efforts earning recognition from many.

As the teams prepare for the second Test in Kanpur, India pacer Akash Deep has joined the chorus of praise for Bangladesh's pace unit. Speaking at a pre-match press conference on September 25, Akash Deep highlighted the quality of Bangladesh’s bowlers during the Chennai Test. “Bangladesh’s pacers did a good job. They bowled in good areas. Our pacers did the same. In the second innings, the wicket became a bit slow, and there wasn’t much movement. Overall, I think they bowled well.”

Akash also mentioned his effectiveness in getting Bangladesh’s left-handed batters out from around the wicket, saying, “In the first innings, the wicket had some assistance. My strength is bowling around the wicket, and I feel comfortable doing it when the pitch helps. By my second over, I noticed that swing was available, and my plan was to keep hitting good areas.”

The Indian pacer credited domestic cricket for helping him adjust to the rigors of international play. " I have played a lot of cricket in the last two years. Ranji Trophy, Duleep Trophy, Deodhar Trophy, so we are used to playing cricket for long periods. I think that as a cricketer, it's important to understand yourself. Suddenly if we are selected for a new team, there shouldn't be any confusion. 'I have done this in the Ranji Trophy, what am I supposed to do here?'

"I have worked on that, worked on my strengths. What can I add to my bowling? I have spent time thinking about those things. It's about the simple things. I don't put pressure on myself, that I have to play in [November's tour of] Australia, or in any other big series. I stay in the present. The second Test between India and Bangladesh is set to take place in Kanpur on September 27. India currently lead the series 1-0 after winning the first match in Chennai.
