The Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) has assured the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) of their participation in the upcoming 2025 Champions Trophy, quelling rumors of a potential withdrawal.

This news comes after ACB Chairman Mirwais Ashraf and CEO Naseeb Khan met with PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi during the International Cricket Council's (ICC) annual Board Meeting in Colombo. During the meeting, ACB officials emphasized their excitement to compete in their first-ever Champions Trophy, which will be held in Pakistan in February and March of 2025.

Meanwhile, Chairman Naqvi also engaged in a friendly discussion with BCCI Secretary Jay Shah, although no formal talks regarding bilateral series between Pakistan and India took place.

The ACB press release also revealed plans for potential future cricket activities. This includes discussions about organizing a Youth Tri-Series featuring Pakistan, Afghanistan, and the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Additionally, the ACB is exploring the possibility of A team tours to Bangladesh and Zimbabwe, with specific dates and venues to be determined.

The PCB is gearing up to host the 2025 Champions Trophy, and Afghanistan's confirmation strengthens Pakistan's bid for a successful tournament. With the potential addition of a Youth Tri-Series and A team tours, cricket fans in the region have much to look forward to in the coming months.
