England are one of the contenders to play in the semi-finals of the World Cup. But England have complicated that equation.
Their mission began in the ODI World Cup against New Zealand. They lost the match by a big margin of 9 wickets in that match at Ahmedabad. After that, they were defeated by Afghanistan.
England lost to South Africa by 229 runs yesterday. They won only against Bangladesh. Currently, the team is in the ninth position in the points table. But captain Jos Buttler is still not losing faith.
"Yeah, it's going to be incredibly difficult. We haven't left ourselves any margin from this point in. But we'll keep the belief," Buttler said in the post-match press conference.
Buttler added, “It certainly leaves us in a tough position. There is no room for error from hereon in. That is going to be incredibly tough, but we will sit down and go again. That is all you can do in this situation.”
The road to the semi-finals is not easy for England. Because the next matches are against teams like India, Australia, Pakistan. Even Netherlands and Sri Lanka are not to be taken lightly in front of England.
Buttler also feels they have tough times ahead. From where there will be no chance of making any mistakes in front of them.
