Sabbir Rahman, a dynamic cricketer known for his explosive batting, is set to don the Dhaka Capitals jersey in the upcoming Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) season. After missing out on last year’s edition, Sabbir has been picked by Dhaka Capitals from the player draft and is eager to make his mark.

In a video message shared by Dhaka Capitals, Sabbir expressed his excitement, saying: "Thank you so much. I am very excited and happy. My family members are even more excited. Playing for Dhaka in the BPL was something I always wished for, and Alhamdulillah, it is happening now. It feels great."

Sabbir Rahman did not get a team in the previous BPL season, a setback that he acknowledges was tough to process. Reflecting on that phase, he said: "It felt bad, honestly. But as a professional, I understood it could happen. I focused on practicing hard and making a comeback. I am grateful to Dhaka Capitals for believing in me, and I will try my best to repay that trust."

Sabbir Rahman is aiming high this season. When asked if fans can expect a century from him, the right-handed batter confidently stated: "As a batter, I will surely try for a century, In Sha Allah. Even if I don't reach that milestone, my focus will be on contributing to the team’s victories and proving myself in every match."

Sabbir also addressed his "bad boy" label, a tag that has followed him throughout his career. Speaking candidly, he said: "I don't know why people call me that. Everyone may not see me in a positive light. For some, I might be a 'bad boy,' while for others, a 'good boy.' I try to speak the truth and stand for what I believe in. If that makes me a 'bad boy,' I don’t mind. If I can win 3-4 matches for my team, that's what matters."

He also urged fans to rally behind Dhaka Capitals, saying, "Support Dhaka Capitals, In Sha Allah, something good will happen."

The 2024 edition of the BPL is set to begin on December 30, featuring fierce competition among the participating franchises. With Sabbir Rahman joining the Dhaka Capitals, fans can expect an exciting performance from the flamboyant cricketer, who is eager to make a strong comeback.
