Indian captain Rohit Sharma has made a place in history for himself after winning his fourth major title as captain with India's triumph at the ICC Champions Trophy 2025.
India skipper Rohit Sharma made history on Sunday, March 9, as he took his side to the winning title of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. The victory marked a major feat for the 37-year-old player, as he now finds himself in an elite group comprising cricketing legends such as Imran Khan, Ricky Ponting, Ms Dhoni and Clive Lloyd, of captains who have guided their teams to victories in ICC major events.
India beat New Zealand in the final in Dubai, adding yet another feather to Rohit's cap of distinction, which has seen him join the elite group of captains with four big-tournament victories.
Rohit's performance earned him the Player of the Match award, making him the fourth captain in history to win the award in an ICC Men's Final, joining an elite list of cricket greats: Clive Lloyd (CWC 1975), Ricky Ponting (CWC 2003) and MS Dhoni (CWC 2011).
