Pathirana ruled out of India ODIs, Shiraz replaces him in squad
Due to a shoulder injury, Pathirana, who finished the T20I series as SL's leading wicket-taker, will be out of the series. Mohamed Shiraz has been selected by the SLC to take Pathirana's place in the 50-over format team.

Due to a shoulder injury, Pathirana, who finished the T20I series as SL's leading wicket-taker, will be out of the series. Mohamed Shiraz has been selected by the SLC to take Pathirana's place in the 50-over format team.
Shiraz is now representing the Burgher Recreation Club in the Major Clubs Limited Over Tournament, but he has not yet made his debut internationally. The speedster recently destroyed the Kurunegala Youth Cricket Club to record career-best List A figures of 6-21.
Having played in 47 List A matches thus far, Mohamed Shiraz has amassed an outstanding 80 wickets at a bowling average of 17.52. The 29-year-old has participated in 23 T20 matches and 49 more first-class matches in Sri Lanka's domestic league.
On Friday (August 2), at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo, Sri Lanka and India will play the first one-day international (ODI) of a three-match series. August 4 and August 7 will see the next two ODIs of the series played at the renowned Sri Lankan stadium.
At the Pallekele International Stadium earlier this week, the hosts fell short against world champion India in the Twenty20 International Series, 0–3.
