Bangladesh was once ranked second in the big wins against a full-member team as an ICC associate country. In 1999, when Bangladesh was an ICC associate country, the Tigers defeated Pakistan. The 62-run win in that match was the second-highest run margin by an associate team against a full-member side. In 1996, Kenya won by 73 runs against West Indies and broke that record.

Ireland snatched this record from Kenya against Bangladesh in 2007. Bangladesh lost to Ireland by 74 runs in Bridgetown. The name of Bangladesh sat at the top of the record of shame by topping the West Indies by just one run. It was the largest win by an associate party against a full-member team from 2007 to 2023.

Coming to the 2023 World Cup after 16 years, the Netherlands took Ireland's proud record. This time the name 'Bangladesh' is in shame again. Bangladesh lost against the Netherlands by a big margin of 87 runs on Saturday (October 28).

Batting earlier, Netherlands lost four wickets for 63 runs. But from there they turned around and collected 229 runs. And Bangladesh could not turn around after losing four wickets for 63 runs. Shakib Al Hasan's team was all out for 142 runs. As a result, the Tigers lost by 87 runs.
