At just 25, Arshdeep Singh has cemented his place in India’s T20 squad, with many already considering him a key figure for the future. Despite the 2026 T20 World Cup looming, Arshdeep remains grounded, focusing instead on enjoying the present rather than worrying about the distant future.
"I just want to enjoy my cricket. That’s how the last two years have flown by. My life’s mantra is to live in the present. If today’s my rest day, I’ll enjoy resting all day. What happens tomorrow, I’ll worry about tomorrow. The T20 World Cup is two years away, and that’s too far off to think about," Arshdeep shared, emphasizing his approach to life.
Though the wicket in Delhi may not offer much for bowlers, Arshdeep sees it as an opportunity to sharpen his skills. Playing on different pitches and conditions, he believes, helps players improve and understand the game better, which gives him optimism.
"I want to give my best, regardless of the format I’m playing. Adapting quickly to the conditions and the pitch is crucial. It helps players grow their skills. When you play in different places, you learn different ways of taking wickets and handling pressure. Each format teaches you something different. In red-ball cricket, patience is key as you bowl longer spells, but in T20s, it’s about thinking of ways to improve and doing better with every ball," Arshdeep explained.
Arshdeep’s balanced perspective and ability to adapt to various conditions make him a valuable asset to the Indian team. While the future may hold great things, his focus remains firmly rooted in the present, and that’s where he believes his true strength lies.
