Tigers rarely have a break in the New Year calendar. Bangladesh will play more than 40 international matches according to the confirmed schedule so far. There is a preponderance of T20 cricket, with almost half of the matches on the schedule being in this shortest format. 

Bangladesh cricketers will start cricket with BPL in the first month of the year. On January 19 (Friday), the BPL will begin with a match between the great Dhaka and the defending champions Comilla Victorians. This T20 cricket tournament will last for about one and a half months. The final of BPL will be held on March 1. 

Sri Lanka will visit Bangladesh at the end of February. There will be three format series in that tour. Bangladesh vs Sri Lanka will play a three-match ODI series and a three-match T20I series as part of the World Test Championship. Zimbabwe will visit Bangladesh in April. After two Tests, Bangladesh will play five T20s against Zimbabwe to prepare themselves before the T20 World Cup. Bangladesh will tour the West Indies and the United States to participate in the ninth edition of the ICC T20 World Cup in June. The full schedule of the World Cup, which will begin on June 4, has not been finalized yet. Each team will get a chance to play four matches in the group stage. In the ODI World Cup held in the outgoing year, Bangladesh has been overwhelmed. Bangladesh will have to do something great in the T20 World Cup to make up for that failure.

After the T20 World Cup, Bangladesh will play two Tests, three ODIs and three T20Is against Afghanistan in July. The series is organized by the Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB). But the venue of the series has not been finalized yet. Bangladesh will be hosted by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) after ACB. Bangladesh will tour Pakistan to play two Tests in August 2024. Earlier, Bangladesh toured Pakistan in 2020.

Bangladesh will then tour India and play two Tests and three T20Is. The two series will be held in the month of September-October. Bangladesh will welcome South Africa at home after three consecutive tours. The Proteas will return after playing only two Tests of the World Test Championship. Bangladesh will tour the West Indies after playing two Tests against South Africa. Bangladesh will end the year by playing two Tests, three ODIs, and three T20Is there.
