Rajasthan Royals beat Mumbai Indians by 9 wickets on Tuesday (23rd April) in Jaipur. Sandeep Sharma's fiery fifer reduced Mumbai Indians to 179, despite being in a platform to pass through 200. In reply, Yashasvi Jaiswal's maiden hundred of the season crashed Mumbai Indians by 9 wickets.
Opting to bat first, Trent Boult once again removed his bunny Rohit Sharma earlier. Sandeep Sharma had Ishan Kishan for a 3 ball duck. Sandeep then got Suryakumar Yadav and Mumbai were feeling the heat. It was Tilak Varma and Mohammad Nabi tried to salvage the situation and hence they strung a 32 run stand but Yuzvendra Chahal removed Nabi to break the stand.
Tilak and Nehal Wadhera came with all guns blazing to smack RR bowlers and helped MI to post 179 on the board. Tilak top scoring with his 65 off 45, while Nehal made a blitzkrieg 49 off 24 ball knock.
In reply, Jos Buttler and Yashasvi Jaiswal gave RR a thumping way to start. Smashing the MI bowlers at bay and racing their way to 61 inside the powerplay. The opening stand gifted them 74 runs just inside 8 overs. After the departure of Buttler, Jaiswal took the onus on his shoulders and started to unleash his prowess. Ripping through the MI bowlers he made his maiden fifty of the season, however after a while, he eventually converted that fifty into his maiden hundred of the season as well.
Captain Sanju Samson partnered Jaiswal with a fine 38 off 28 balls, while Jaiswal scored unbeaten 104 off 60 deliveries to take his side home with 9 wickets in hands.
