Bangladesh cricket fans will always remember seeing Mushfiqur Rahim stand behind the stumps and passionately encourage the bowlers before every delivery.  But that time is over now.  Mushfiqur has now said goodbye to ODI cricket, ending an amazing white-ball career that began with him quitting T20Is.

Shoriful Islam, a young Bangladeshi pacer, shared a moving farewell to his former partner Mushfiqur on social media after the shocking news of his retirement. He talked about their time on the field together.

Expressing his gratitude and admiration, Shoriful Islam wrote, "You are an inspiration to me. I will miss those moments when I was at the bowling end, and you were behind the stumps, cheering me on. The way you supported me to deliver my best was truly special."

He further thanked Mushfiqur for his contributions to Bangladesh cricket, adding, "For me, you will always be the best. Thank you for giving Bangladesh cricket so many beautiful moments. Wishing you all the best for your next journey!"

The 274 ODIs that Mushfiqur Rahim played in earned him 7,795 runs at an average of 36.42, with 9 centuries and 49 half-centuries.  He scored 144 runs in an ODI, which was his best score, and he was a big part of some of Bangladesh's biggest wins in history.
