Cricket West Indies (CWI) has today announced the West Indies women's team for the 2025 ICC Women's Cricket World Cup Qualifiers, which will be played in Lahore, Pakistan, from April 9-19.

Veteran all-rounder Deandra Dottin has been left out as West Indies named a formidable 15-strong team for the 2025 ICC Women's Cricket World Cup Qualifiers in Pakistan between April 9-19, the ICC official website reports. Dottin had only recently injured herself in the Women's Premier League (WPL) competition in India and has not recovered in time to play in the six-team tournament in Pakistan, the ICC reports. The Caribbean team's loss is a significant blow, as the 33-year-old was West Indies' highest run-scorer in last year's ICC Women's T20 World Cup with 120 runs off five matches at a 40.00 average.

The squad is expected to leave today for pre-tournament preparation in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) ahead of traveling to Pakistan to compete for one of the last two spots available in the 2025 ICC Women's Cricket World Cup, hosted in India during October-November this year.

West Indies will have five opponents in the round-robin tournament: hosts Pakistan, Ireland, Bangladesh, Scotland, and Thailand. The two best teams will proceed to the main tournament along with Australia, England, New Zealand, South Africa, Sri Lanka, and hosts India.

CWI Director of Cricket Miles Bascombe was optimistic about the preparation of the team:

"Our women have been training hard and are ready for what lies ahead. We saw a lot of good performances during the home series against Bangladesh in January and the CG United Women's Super 50 Cup, both hosted in St. Kitts."

The qualifiers provide us with a vital chance to guarantee ourselves a place in the World Cup. I believe that, as the past few months have indicated, we possess both the talent and the will to accomplish it. The combination of experience and youth in our midst is especially promising.

Our seasoned players have accepted their mentorship role, and our young stars have proved time and again that they can perform well on the global platform. This contrast will form a strong team that can withstand stress.

All 15 matches of the round-robin tournament will be played in Lahore, Pakistan, at the Gaddafi Stadium and the Lahore City Cricket Association (LCCA) Stadium. The West Indies women will begin their campaign on April 9 against Scotland at the LCCA Stadium, followed by matches against Ireland, Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Thailand.
