Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) continued their impressive run in IPL 2025 with a convincing seven-wicket win over Punjab Kings (PBKS) in Match 37 at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium, Mullanpur on April 20, 2025.
While the match itself didn’t see any major controversies, the post-match scenes stirred some buzz thanks to an animated reaction from Virat Kohli and a moment of visible tension involving Shreyas Iyer.

After Jitesh Sharma hit the match-winning six to seal the chase for RCB Kohli was seen celebrating passionately on the field. But what caught the viewers’ attention was Shreyas Iyer’s seemingly unhappy reaction during the post-match handshakes.
There was a brief moment of awkwardness between the two —no handshakes, no eye contact. However, it all ended on a sweet note as both Kohli and Iyer eventually shared a hug with wide smiles putting all speculation to rest.

Virat Kohli who was named Player of the Match had this to say after the game:
"Very important game for us. Two points can make a massive difference in terms of qualification. We’ve played some amazing cricket away from home. When you go from eight to ten points, it changes the whole scenario. The mindset has to be getting two points every game." he said.
Kohli was quick to credit his teammate as well "I wanted to accelerate more, but I thought Dev made a huge difference today. Honestly, this award should go to him – I don’t know why they’ve given it to me." he added.
