The ECB said in a statement on Monday (October 4) that the issue had been discussed between England cricketers and management. It is also reported that there is regular communication with Cricket Australia (CA). There has also been some concern about whether a squad suitable for the series could be formed in the current situation.
The statement further said that sufficient information is being provided to English cricketers and management on various health issues. Discussions will continue throughout the week and it will be considered whether a suitable squad for the series can be formed.
The Australian government has announced plans to relax the quarantine policy for foreign people who have been vaccinated until November. However, the government has not yet decided whether to extend the deadline.
A few days ago, English captain Joe Root expressed dissatisfaction about going on Australia tour. The team's assistant coach Paul Collingwood also shared his views on Instagram about the suffering of the visiting cricketers.
However, in response, the CA said in a statement that so far all discussions have been positive and the health of cricketers will always be a priority.
