Fortune Barishal have thumped Chittagong Kings by 9 wickets on Monday (February 3) at Shere Bangla National Cricket Stadium. Mohammad Ali's fifer reduced Chittagong Kings to 149 runs. In reply, Towhid Hridoy's blistering 82* off just 56 deliveries led Fortune Barishal a massive 9-wicket victory.
Towhid Hridoy blasted a sensational 82* off only 56 deliveries to lead Fortune Barishal to their consecutive BPL Finals. Being inserted to bat first, Kyle Myers knocked over Khawaja Nafay on 4 off 2 balls. He then had Graham Clark, with Mohammad Ali removing captain Mithun Ali, reducing Chittagong Kings to a paltry 34-4. Parvez Hossain Emon and Shamim Hossain then stitched a fine partnership of 77 runs before the departure of Emon on 36 off 36 deliveries.

Shamim Hossain then single handedly played against the Barishal bowlers, smashing a fine knock of 79 off 47 deliveries. Mohammad Ali ran riot through the Chittagong Kings middle order and reduced them to a paltry 149 runs. Mohammad Ali returned figures with 24-5 from his four-over quota. 

In reply, Fortune Barishal had a sedate yet effective start. The opening stand was worth of 55 runs but consumed 52 deliveries. Captain Tamim Iqbal made 29 off 26 deliveries before falling to Khaled Ahmed. But since the departure, it was a one way traffic. Towhid Hridoy came with the all guns blazing, tearing apart the Chittagong Kings bowlers, smashing them ins and outs and racing towards his fifty in no time. He remained unbeaten on 82* off 56 deliveries, orchestrating his innings with two towering sixes and 9 boundaries. Dawid Malan made 34* off 22 balls as the duo had a massive game changing partnership of 95 runs to lead Fortune Barishal to the final of BPL for the consecutive times. Now Chittagong Kings will play against Khulna Tigers in the Qualifier two at Shere Bangla National Cricket Stadium on Wednesday, February 5.
