Shuvagata Hom was born on November 11, 1986 in Mymensing, Bangladesh. This right-handed batting all-rounder has made his name by hitting some impressive shots in first class cricket for the Dhaka Division.
Shuvagata Hom is a cricketer who plays for the Bangladesh National Cricket Team. He has been part of the team since 2014 and has enjoyed a successful period with the squad. Shuvagata Hom was born on November 11, 1986 in Mymensing. Shuvagata Hom made his debut for the Bangladesh National Cricket Team in 2014 in the ODI/T20/Test format.

Cricketing Career
Shuvagata made his first-class debut on 20 January 2010 in a National League game for Dhaka against Barisal. Dhaka batted once in the match and came in as number seven, Shuvagata hit 52 carries from 82 balls. During a March 2010 warm-up game against a touring England team, Shuvagata was scoring 91 runs from 30 balls for Bangladesh A in bowling by Alastair Cook and Michael Carberry when England tricked their side into making a statement.
Shuvagata scored his first century in October 2010 during the National League's opening game against the Khulna Division. Shuvagata hit 105 carries from 203 balls when the match ended in a tie. Dhaka finished as runners-up and Shuvagata played three of his team's nine games, scoring 318 runs, including two centuries.
After the 2011 World Cup, Bangladesh faced Australia in a three-game ODI series. Shuvagata was drafted into the national squad for the first time. He had to wait until Bangladesh's next series, five ODIs against Zimbabwe in August, before making his debut. Shuvagata was expected to be introduced at number four, but instead he struggled at number six in the debut. Debuting in the third match, he hit 32 carries from 36 balls before going out.
The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) established the six-team Bangladesh Premier League in 2012, a 220-year tournament scheduled to take place in February of that year. An auction was held for teams to buy players and Shuvagata was purchased by the Sylhet Royals for $80,000. He scored 55 carries from 6 innings in the contest. In April, Shuvagata received a rookie contract from the BCB.
Shuvagata has made 8 friendly appearances for Bangladesh since his debut against West Indies on 5 September 2014. He played his last test in October 2016 against England. In October 2018, he was called up to the squad of Dhaka Dynamites team following the draft for 2018–19 Bangladesh Premier League. In February 2019, while playing for Shinepukur Cricket Club in the 2018/19 Dhaka Premier Division Twenty20 Cricket League, he scored the fastest fifty by a Bangladeshi batsman in T20 cricket using just 16 balls. In November 2019, he was selected to play for the Dhaka Platoon in the 2019–20 Bangladesh Premier League.
In April 2021, following his consistent all-around performance in top-flight cricket, he was called up to the Bangladesh squad for 2-match Test series against Sri Lanka, having last played against England in the 2016 Test 5 years ago. Bangladesh national team chief selector Minhajul Abedin said: “Shuvagata comes back after a while but he has been a consistent performer in top-flight cricket. We viewed him as a batting all-rounder, but his off-break is pretty handy and gives us an option in the spin department."
In January 2022, Twin Centurys of Shuvagata Hom helped Walton Central Zone win the 2021–22 Bangabandhu Bangladesh Cricket League (BCL) Trophy. They beat BCB South Zone by four wickets in a thrilling encounter in the final of the tournament at the Sher-E-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur. It was her first BCL title in four years.
