Bangladesh’s rising pace sensation, Tanzim Hasan Sakib, has cleared the fitness test and is now all set to represent Guyana Amazon Warriors in the upcoming Global Super League. With the clearance from the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB), Tanzim will depart for Guyana on November 22 to join the franchise for the high-profile tournament.
The Global Super League, featuring five teams from five nations, is set to kick off in Guyana. Interestingly, while Rangpur Riders will represent Bangladesh in the tournament, Tanzim will don the Guyana Amazon Warriors jersey. Tanzim revealed to BDCricTime that he received the offer to play for Guyana through veteran spinner Imran Tahir.
Although there were initial concerns regarding his availability, Tanzim’s fitness test results dispelled any doubts. He will depart for Guyana on November 22, with his debut match scheduled on November 26 (Bangladesh time: November 27, 5 AM) against Lahore Qalandars in the tournament opener.
The Global Super League features teams from Pakistan (Lahore Qalandars), England (Hampshire), Australia (Victoria), Bangladesh (Rangpur Riders), and the host nation, Guyana (Guyana Amazon Warriors). Each team will play one match against the other, with the top two advancing to the final on December 8.
Tanzim’s Guyana team will face Rangpur Riders on December 5. Should he make the playing XI, Tanzim could find himself bowling against his compatriots in this anticipated clash.
The tournament is expected to provide Tanzim with an excellent platform to gain international experience and showcase his skills alongside top players from around the world. As Tanzim embarks on this new chapter, fans eagerly await his performance in Guyana colors.
