India crashed Australia by 20 runs on Friday (December 1st) in Raipur. Rinku Singh's blitzkrieg 46 off 29 and Jitesh Sharma's 35 off 19 balls helped India to post 174 on the board. Axar Patel with the ball changed the scenario of the match and aided India to win the match and wrap the series by 3-1 with one game to come.
Earlier, Matthew Wade won the toss and chose to bowl first. Indian opening stand was worth of 50 runs with Yashasvi Jaiswal was smashing the Aussie bowlers everywhere of the park. However he was out on 37 off 28 deliveries. Tanveer Sangha picked up the wicket of other opener Ruturaj Gaikwad for his scratchy 32 off 28 balls. Suryakuma Yadav - Shreyas Iyer were flopped and Rinku Singh got chance to shine with the bat yet again.
Rinku was fluent and he was smacking the bowlers at ease. He raced to 46 off just 29 balls before getting out to a corker from Jason Behrendorff. Jitesh Sharma too showed intent and got off to a flier start as he scored 35 off just 19 balls before Ben Dwarshuis picked him up. India finished their innings on 174-9.
In reply, Australia had a brisk start. Courtesy to a flourishing Travis Head as he was hitting Indians at his own ways. He raced to 31 off only 16 deliveries before getting out to Axar Patel. Josh Philippe was castled off by Ravi Bishnoi and India were on top. Axar Patel started to ran riot as he knocked over Aaron Hardie and Australia fell into a deep trouble.
Ben Mcdermott too was castled and his tough knock of 19 off 22 gone in waste. At the end Matty Wade's fine 36 off 23 balls helped Australia cruise pass 150 mark barrier but they lost the game by 20 runs. With this win, India now have won the T20I series by 3-1 with one game to spare.
