Chittagong Kings thumped Sylhet Strikers by 96 runs on Thursday (January 30) at Shere Bangla National Cricket Stadium. Fifties from Khawaja Nafay and Mohammad Mithun, quick-fire cameos from Shamim Hossain and Khaled Ahmed helped Chittagong Kings get to 196 on the board. In reply, four each from Shoriful Islam and Khaled Ahmed handed Chittagong Kings a massive 96-run victory.

Chittagong Kings have a massive victory over Sylhet Strikers and this win means the Kings have consolidated their position for the playoffs. Being inserted to bat first, Chittagong Kings had a sedate way to start their innings as Tanzim Hasan Sakib removed Parvez Hossain Emon and Graham Clark cheaply. But Khawaja Nafay and captain Mohammad Mithun stitched a big 93-run stand together. Both of them brought up fifties in the process before departing.

At the backend of the innings, Shamim Hossain smashed a quick-fire cameo of 38 off 23 deliveries, while Khaled Ahmed too blasted an unbeaten 25* off 13 balls to help Chittagong Kings get to 196 on the board.

In reply, Sylhet Strikers had a horrible way to start their innings. Shoriful Islam ran riot with the new ball, removing both the openers cheaply as Sylhet Strikers were in deep trouble earlier on. Khaled Ahmed and Shoriful Islam combined a sensational spell together to bowl Sylhet Strikers out for a paltry 100 runs only as the Chittagong Kings claimed a massive 96-run victory.
