Former India cricketer Suresh Raina feels Shivam Dube will be an x-factor, for the Indian cricket squad in the next T20 World Cup 2024 campaign.

Over the previous two IPL seasons, Dube has been an important member of the CSK middle-order. He has emerged as one of the nation's greatest batters against spin since 2023 and is currently ranked among the top six hitters in the IPL.

Speaking at the World Championship of Leagues kickoff event, Raina described how Dube's aggressive batting style may make all the difference for India in the World Cup.

"He has to play in the World Cup. See, the ability to stand still while hitting those big sixes is very rare. Shivam Dube can be the x-factor for India to win the World Cup. So Rohit will have to take the call whether he wants to play Virat (Kohli) up the top, but then Yashasvi is also batting with a different kind of flair. If the situation arises, Shivam can also bowl for the side," Raina said.

During the Afghanistan series this year, Dube displayed his exceptional batting abilities, winning man of the series after amassing 124 runs in two games and claiming two vital wickets.
