The national team camp has started today (July 31) ahead of the Asia Cup and the ODI World Cup. Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has called a total of 32 cricketers who have recently played for the national team along with contracted cricketers for the camp. But Anamul Haque Bijoy did not receive a call to the camp even though many were called.

Although not a regular player of the national team, Bijoy was around the team. He was also the second highest run-scorer in the last Dhaka Premier League (DPL). He played in the last Asia Cup, and visited Zimbabwe last year. But still, he’s not included in the 32-man list of the national team camp. BCB Cricket Operations Deputy Manager Shahriar Nafees did not say anything to the media about this.

Today (July 31) Nafees faced the media in Mirpur. He said, 'See who will be called and who will not be called, it is within the responsibility and scope of the selectors. Actually, I can't and don't want to say anything about this.”

Nafees added, "Whoever's responsibility is divided in such a way that he will fulfill his responsibility. Selection of the team is the responsibility of the entire selection panel. They can tell when a cricketer is taken or not when they plan.”

Currently, 32 cricketers have been called to the camp. From here, the Asia Cup and ODi World Cup squad will be formed with 15 members.
