Australia have announced their XI for the second Test against India, commences from Friday (December 6) at the Adelaide Oval. Veteran pacer Scott Boland has returned to the XI to replace injured Josh Hazlewood.
Scott Boland Boland, 35, hasn’t played Test Cricket since Ashes 2023 against England. And he has taken the place of Josh Hazlewood, who was ruled out of the day-night pink ball clash due to a side strain. While, all-rounder Mitchell Marsh has retained his place in the XI despite injury concerns. So it means Tasmanian all-rounder Beau Webster has to wait more to make his debut for Australia.
Australia XI for the second Test against India :
Usman Khawaja, Nathan McSweeney, Marnus Labuschagne, Steven Smith, Travis Head, Mitchell Marsh, Alex Carey (Wicketkeeper), Mitchell Starc, Pat Cummins, Nathan Lyon, Scott Boland.
Young blood Nathan McSweeney has got another chance after failing to capitalizing his chances on debut in Perth. Despite the poor run of Marnus Labuschagne over the last months, he too has been given another go in Adelaide.
Australia suffered a devastating defeat at Optus, Perth. The hosts were blown away by the storm of Indian teen sensation Yashasvi Jaiswal, ace batter Virat Kohli and Jasprit Bumrah's deadly spell.
