Pakistan beat South Africa by 6 wickets to seal their ticket for the final of ODI tri-series on Wednesday (February 12) in Karachi. Temba Bavuma [82 off 96 balls], Matthew Breeztke [83 off 84 balls] and Heinrich Klaasen [87 off 56 balls] steered South Africa to 352 on the board. In reply, Pakistan skipper Mohammad Rizwan's unbeaten 122* and Salman Agha's 134 off only 103 deliveries helped them pull off their highest ODI chase.

Opting to bat first, South Africa started off to a flier. Courtesy, their skipper Temba Bavuma and Tony de Zorzi as the duo raced their way to 51 runs inside 8 overs before the departure of de Zorzi after his brisk 22 off 18 deliveries. Matthew Breeztke and Temba Bavuma then stitched up together for a fabulous 119 runs stand. Along with the partnership, both of them raised their bat for fifties.

In the middle order, Heinrich Klaasen came out with all the guns blazing, smashing a fabulous 87 off just 56 deliveries, orchestrating his innings with 3 sixes and 11 boundaries. Also wicketkeeper batter Kyle Verreynne played a quick-fire cameo of 44* off 32 deliveries and helped the Proteas get to a massive 352 on the board.

In reply, Pakistan too started off to a flier. As the opening pair of Fakhar Zaman and Babar Azam added 50+ runs inside 6 overs, though they lost three wickets inside 11 overs. That brought in Pakistan skipper Mohammad Rizwan and Salman Agha and the duo solidified their positions on the crease first, got themselves settled in and then came out all the guns blazing to accelerate the innings.

Rizwan played the second playing role, while Agha was the accelerator of the innings. Once they got settled in, boundaries were flowing and the duo added a record-breaking 260-run stand off just 229 balls, which steered Pakistan to the final of the ODI tri-series.
