The day 3 of the one off Test between Ireland and Zimbabwe has moved rapidly as Ireland are stuttering on 33-5 in pursuit of 158. Zimbabwe trailed by 40 runs after the first innings and they just managed to get 197 on the board as Andy McBrine had another 4-fer. Chasing 158, Ireland have been rocked in just 8 overs and lost half of their side.
Zimbabwe started their innings with Joylord Gumbie and Prince Masvaure but their gritty stay didn't last long as Barry McCarthy removed the latter one. Soon the former one fell to Craig Young. Number three batter, Dion Myers had a great started and capitalised to his start as he made a gritty 57 off 142 deliveries. He found hands in veteran Sean Williams, who scored 40 before departing to Craig Young.
A couple of needless shots from Clive Madande and Muzarabani saw Zimbabwe losing the plot. They were bowled out with a lead of just 157 on the board.
Chasing 158, Ireland were succumbed to the death infront of an inspiring spell of Richard Ngarava. First, he bounced Peter Moor out and then followed it up with a wicket next ball of Curtis Campher. Muzarabani got Balbirnie out next over and Ireland were reeling.
Harry Tector and Paul Stirling too fell cheaply and Ireland were crumbling on 21-5. Ireland are on 33-5 and are needing of more 125 to win the match. They've got wk-batter Lorcan Tucker and Andy McBrine on the crease with half of the side in the pavilion. It'll be a tough ask for the Irish lower order to climb the mountain.
On the contrary, for Zimbabwe, they'll be hoping to see their pacers firing up once again tomorrow morning to tear apart Ireland to hand them the Test victory.
