The Afghan bowlers were not able to control the line-length as well. They were bowling wide balls, a wide ball turned into a four in that over of 21 runs.
After the match, Rashid Khan said, “The ground was very wet to be honest, and the strength we have, 50% was taken away from us with the wet ball. But we still bowled well, overall a great effort by the team.”
Before that, Afghanistan went down to bat and collected 154 runs. The highest contribution to this capital was Mohammad Nabi. This experienced cricketer remained unbeaten on 54 runs off 40 balls. In the end, Azmatullah Omarzai played an attacking innings of 33 runs off 18 balls.
On batting, Rashid said, “With the bowling unit we have, that total was enough but in T20 one innings can take away the game from you. If the top-order was a bit more careful, we could have got 20-25 more. [on Nabi] Great to see the way he played, senior pro, he set an example and he took it deep. It was not an unplayable pitch and the way he played was amazing and so happy for him.”
